What Happened to ListJoe.com?

Well, I’m not sure what happened to ListJoe.com during the last few days but I’m feeling a little guilty after recommending it here as one of the sites where you can get a few signups to your email list campaign when you are first starting out.

Hope nobody made an investment there and got taken for a ride if it does turn out that the service has gone down permanently!

Any News on Where ListJoe is Gone Anyone?

Had a browse around the web to see if there was any news to be found but I couldn’t find anything explaining why ListJoe disappeared. If you have any inside info or perhaps if your not as lazy about searching for updates on the subject as I am feel free to let us know in the comment section!

Chris.

I had used them for about 3 years with some good success, but only ever as a free member. I am disappointed that they seem to have gone as they were the best of the bunch that I use.

Very strange as they were one of the top rated mailers out there and usually very responsive.

  • Richard Adams on June 16, 2012

Actually comments are all too kind talking about disappointments etc. It’s a disgrace just to disappear without notification to many who have spent time and/or money using List Joe. Easy to send out a message to members saying “sorry, we’re packing up” at least. Gives working on line a bad name. Who can be trusted?

I’m inclined to agree with you on that one Richard. If they ever start another online business and people know they previously owned List Joe it’s going to reflect badly on ‘em.

Build My Rank got it right when they had a lot of trouble and had to close up shop, much more respectable.

The good owner of ListJoe – aka Jonah Klimack – has posted back on the new holding page at http://www.listjoe.com that he is hoping the site will be back up this Sunday, 17th June.

The site experienced a hacking/phishing attack and they temporarily lost control of the domain.

    Good News for all!

    • Chris Naish on June 16, 2012

      That’s good to hear Andy!

Perhaps Jonah Klimack might be interested in this service so he can get his shit together rapidly if it happens again:

      http://thinkclickandgrowrich.com/339/best-wordpress-database-backup-plugin-review/

Then again, he probably isn’t using WordPress. I guess Peter at codegarage might be willing to fit them in however.

P.S. Didn’t I tell ya guys, (see link below) stuff like this happens all the time. Even big sites like List Joe aint safe and probably lost a lot of money (and maybe credibility?) after this episode.

P.P.S No offence or belittlement intended toward Jonah Klimack! List Joe is one of the best sites in this niche and I have made the mistake of not backing up my stuff also. If Jonah Klimack was dumb for doing this, count me in on the ranks of dumb people cos i’ve done it too and been punished.

      Fantastic news.
I was wondering what had happened.
I thought it was just me losing all contact.
I have had excellent service from them.
It will be good to have them back.

Same here- I appreciated List Joe and used it for big sendings – glad it’s been sorted somewhat positively.

Today List Joe is slowly returning. Unless I’m mistaken there is no log in area for members just yet.

Thanks for the information here. I use List Joe often and I was thinking my computer was acting up or maybe Firefox didn’t like the site anymore. I’ll be watching for Joe’s return.

Today (August 15th) is supposed to be the launch of LJ Version 3 and I still am unable to contact them regarding the state of my account. Can anyone help here? – maybe contact Jonah Klimack and mention my email with List Joe ([email protected]). I’ve run out of options here.

Same problem when I checked to see if I could log in, says some stuff about dedicated members returning or something but no real way to make contact.

Guess Mr Klimack is in the motions of getting the ball rolling once again?

At last there’s movement at ListJoe- I just signed up for the updates and everything is happening, albeit slowly, but there’s something good happening in LJ3.
Go to the site and the Important Update link and you will find it all.

September 7 Update on List Joe
Thanks for signing up to the List Joe 3.0
    prelaunch information.

I have some awesome news for you…

As you probably know by now, List Joe is
    going through a major overhaul.

To do this right, it takes time..more than
    I expected.

    However, the awesome news is:

We are very, very close to being done!

That’s right, doors are opening soon. We
are currently just putting on the final
touches, and everything is looking amazing.

I don’t want to give an exact date, because
it’s really hard to know for sure.

But what I do promise is that it will be
done very soon, and it will be very awesome.

And for sticking with us, you will be
    greatly rewarded.

Again, I apologize for the delay and for
everything that has happened. I promise to
keep working as hard as possible to get
    List Joe done soon.

I’ll keep you updated as we progress.

    Sincerely,

    Jonah Klimack

Poor old Jonah and List Joe are still having their problems- here is the 13th September update- the latest at time of posting.
When I emailed you last week about Listjoe
being very close to completion, I was right…

…in my mind though I wanted it done within a few
    days.

Unfortunately it’s been a week and we’re still not
    QUITE, done yet.

I want to show you SOMETHING, so I’m going to give you
a screenshot of the landing page forthe new Listjoe -
with it’s sexy, sleek new design, and innovative NEW
    sign up process.

We think conversions will POP even better than on
Listjoe. Which means when we launch and you’re set in,
you’re going to get lots of $100 sales.

Actually, a lot of thought was put into that, because
let’s face it, if you want to promote a listbuilder,
You better promote one that converts very well! …

Jonah then promotes Bweeble but I won’t continue into that one. The good news is that List Joe is slowly rising out of the ashes.

The new List Joe is awesome. Very responsive list – My GetClicky stats show engagement. List Joe has it all – social media branding and functions. Check out the profile pages – & interact with other members. Click on their pictures, it takes you to their profiles. In the mailer, you can backlink and add pictures. I copied and pasted a blog post, then tweeked it. Haven’t found other mailers with this same functionality. i upgraded and it paid for itself within the first week. The capture pages convert very well. I think this is Number 1.
